History and overview

Friends for Neighborhood Progress, Inc. (FFNP) is a tax-exempt nonprofit since 1968, serving low-income residents in Frederick County, MD. FFNP runs a Housing First Permanent Supportive Housing Program, placing chronically homeless and disabled adults into stable homes and offering tailored support services to address their needs, including food insecurity.

Currently, FFNP operates eight scattered-site units housing ten chronically homeless, disabled individuals. Supported by HUD funding and donations, FFNP provides subsidized permanent housing to those most in need.
